Robert Haydock
Robert graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Highly interested in coaching and leadership, he believes the heart of winning lies in one’s ability to enable others to take off, setting up a virtuous circle where you yourself must up your own game. Robert has been president of AML since 2006 and CEO since 2009.
Chris Bueley
Chris earned his MASc from the University of Victoria. Armed with a growth mindset, he seeks continued education in all aspects of his life, personal and professional. Twelve years ago Chris started at AML as a Mechanical Engineer, quickly propelled forward by his knack for connecting engineering to business outcomes.
Caitlin Lott
Cait earned her CMA and CPA in 2014, before starting at AML as Financial Controller six years ago. Due to her background in administration, she prefers to be operationally focussed. Cait is constantly focussed on momentum, making decisions for long-term growth and setting the people around her up for success.
Jonathan Armstrong
With a MASc from the University of Ottawa, Jonathan went on to earn his P. Eng. in the Province of Nova Scotia. Six years ago, he started his time at AML as a Mechanical Engineer. The constant desire to change and make things better - people, products, or processes - has driven Jonathan’s journey at AML.
Pete Reedeker
Pete has a Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and earned the Red Seal Endorsement in Joinery. He started as an Engineering Technologist at AML twenty-four years ago and has since led nearly every department from Production to Sales. Pete maintains that in our niche industry building professional relationships is paramount, a skill he’s widely known for.

James Walton
James has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta. James has always been passionate about connecting people and technology and seeing projects succeed. Starting at AML in 2011 and quickly growing into technical sales, James now leads our custom-engineered projects for clients who need advanced capabilities in instrumentation and MVP.
Neal Adamson
Neal has a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level Three Diploma in First Line Management. Neal joins AML with over 20 years of experience in the marine technology industry and a knack for customer relationships. Neal is constantly striving for personal development, often inspiring others along the way.
Leo Vandas
Leo graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Commerce and a specialization in Service Management. After joining AML in 2022 as an intern, Leo’s open mind and thirst for knowledge propelled her forward, where she’s now a critical resource in our sales department. Her favourite part about the job has been the technical learning curve that comes with such a niche industry.
Ryan Sommen
Ryan has a degree in Industrial Automation from North Island College, where he gained a background in areas such as Industrial Power Electronics, Process Control, PLC Programming, and more. These technical skills allowed Ryan to move quickly through the ranks at AML after he joined as an Assembly Technician in 2019. Ryan credits every role at AML as a learning experience, ultimately enabling him to thrive in the job he has today.
Darrell Groom
Alongside 25 years of experience in the marine technology sector, Darrell has a degree in Electrical Engineering and his P. Eng from the province of Nova Scotia. Eight years ago Darrell joined AML as a Project Manager, and has since been heavily involved in MVP deployments and tech support. Passionate about creating positive experiences for our customers, Darrell works to make the complicated, uncomplicated.
Mark Smith
Mark has a Mechanical Engineering Technologist certification from Nova Scotia Community College. He believes adventure and challenge are fuel for discovery. Indeed, Mark joined AML in time for a new office debut and the acquisition of the Moving Vessel Profiler product line. A true expert, Mark joined AML in 2016 and now has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing and installing MVPs.
Lina Franco
Lina graduated from Universidad de La Sabana in 2018 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Passionate about sustainability and continuous improvement, Lina also holds a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma. Always eager to tune her oceanographic knowledge, Lina joined AML in 2022 as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician and has since advanced substantially.
Pepper Janewatanavit
Pepper earned his Bachelor of Business English from Bangkok University and his Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma from Camosun College. Constantly unsticking and empowering our customers, Pepper is a key touchpoint on the technical support team. His open-mindedness and progressive mindset serve him well in this market-facing role.
